Until we add the PUSH feature to our iOS Client we suggest the PortSIP iOS Client as a good alternative to wake up when a call comes in.
Instructions
This guide contains screenshots from the Android Client, however, the iOS client is similar. Please follow these six simple steps to setup your extension with this client, it just takes a few minutes:
- Get the respective client from the app store and install it. Link is here: https://www.portsip.com/download-portsip-softphone/
2. When you start the client the following screen appears:
Before filling in the fields, first select "Advanced".
3. Fill in the following information (Advanced Settings)
- Display as: Write your name to appear in the softphone (optional), otherwise it will only show your extension number. Please note: in the iOS client this field is called "Display Name". It is the third field from the top, not the first one as in this example.
- Voicemail: To be able to dial in to your voicemail by clicking the voicemail button, please input these details in the Voicemail field: *97@mydomain.com. Please note that you need to replace "@mydomain.com" with your PBX domain. For example, mycompany.impactpbx.com
- UDP: Select UDP if not already selected.
Scroll down to the following fields:
Enable STUN: Please switch this ON. Input the Server stun.l.google.com. Input the Port number 19302. In iOS the STUN server and port might be filled in already. If this is the case leave as is and just switch Enable STUN to ON.
Scroll up again and click "← Advanced". Your settings will be saved.
4. Back in the welcome screen please provide the following information:
- Username: Please provide your extension number (in this example 1008)
- Password: Please provide the extension password you received from your admin
- Domain (iOS)/SIP Domain (Android): Please provide the domain of your PBX, e.g. mycompany.impactpbx.com
Then click on "Sign in". You should be signed in if the credentials are correct and see a dialpad.
5. Codecs: Please go to "Settings > Codecs":
Please make sure the Audio Codecs are activated and in same order as pictured above. By clicking on "EDIT" in the upper right corner you can change the order of the codecs. Click on "← Codecs" to save the settings and go back to the Settings screen.
6. You can now click on Dialpad and start dialing.
